Shipping CulturePrep Samples

Make sure that your samples are well grown, and have high enough density. Use selective antibiotic if applicable to maintain plasmid. We recommend to send us 250 uL of culture, however 200 uL typically also works well. Only send us non-pathogenic BSL-1 E. coli strains containing one plasmid. If your strains contains multiple plasmids, we recommend to use our bacterial WGS service.  

Your samples must be properly sealed for shipping. Ensure tight sealing to prevent leaks.

If using a PCR strip, use tight caps. Make sure that there is a bit of air headspace (do not fill completely. 

For larger orders (more than 24 samples), please use a 96 well plate. We recommend to use a strong aluminum foil seal and to use a roller to firmly apply the seal.

Cultures should be single-colony derived. Avoid mixed cultures or satellite colonies. No visible debris or contamination.

Low-density cultures → poor plasmid yield
Missing antibiotic → plasmid loss
Overfilled tubes → leakage
Weak plate seals → cross-contamination
